Default Road race oil pan

I'm putting a low profile road race pan from Canton on my B & B cobra with a 302. I'd prefer to use a rear sump but don't know if Id get substantially better clearance with a front sump. Both pans are 7 1/2" deep but my thought is the front sump being closer to the front tires would escape more damage. Who's running a rear sump? Any issues?

Front sump. I suppose it could make a slight difference in clearance. More so if it hangs below the frame

Smile

42,000 miles on my Canton rear sump. No scratches.
My Canton road racing pan it the same depth as a stock pan. I had to look a long time to find it.

I live in North Alabama and drive to Columbus, Ohio every year. If I lived in Detroit I would install a 1/2" plate under my oil pan.
