427R Roush crate engine dyno curves

I have a Roush 427SR crate engine (510hp version) that I installed in my superformance cobra. I’m very familiar with the differences between the R and SR versions of the Roush engine.

I want to compare the horsepower and torque curves for these 2 engines. I’d like to see a copy of the Roush dyno sheet for the R version to compare to mine.

My engine is runnung great. No issues. I’m just curious to see the difference.

Can anyone provide the data I’m looking for?

I just noticed this is the 480hp version not your 510hp version.
Luckily you have the 510HP SR dyno sheet.

I have not asked Roush for the curves. That’s a reasonable thing to do. Was not sure they would send them to me.

I have seen the curve on parkplaceservicecenter.com, which is for the 427R. What surprises me when I compare my SR to this website, is that the SR is so far superior up to 5,000 rpm. I’m questioning the R curves and that’s why I’m asking for more data.

You should call roush, because they have the original data sheet. In my case i gave them the motor number and they send me the data sheet.
I was really happy with their service.

Would like to understand dyno sheets and how the engine reacts in the car Would it be best to have curve or high numbers across the chart? What curves would be the best for performance and drive ability ? Pulled the charts on engine I had refreshed and tq at 3500 rpm is 532.2 and climbs to 621.3 at 4500 rpm, then stays in low 630 to 576 at at 6000 rpm. I guess I could wait until I get the car going but it will be a while. Not important I guess but like to learn from those that understands.

Here is a chassis dyno of a Roush 427R crate engine, as installed in a Superformance. They have installed many of these 427R engines in cobra's, and this is the best output any of the 427R engines had made. They are rated by Roush at 550 HP and 535 torque at the flywheel. The engine was not run above 5800 rpm's where you would expect to see max HP, but the max torque is a good value.

Ideally you would want a broad flat torque curve. Makes the car very predictable and easy to drive.

This is the 427W that I built at home. The car was just a blast to drive. Very smooth power delivery, no surprises. Very manageable.

Thanks for reply bobcowan, That is flat tq curve your engine made. Like getting feedback from someone who has cobra firsthand experience. Good looking motor by the way.
