Have you tried ebayŽ? 289 HP engines and parts on offered on ebay frequently. I have seen everything from very early 1963 5-bolts to 1967 6-bolt "service" engines offered.

Good luck.....Dan

You could also try Jim Cowles at Shelby Parts and Restorations. He is a Shelby and Cobra expert and has many of the hard to find parts for hipo 289's. He also owns a beautifully restored LeMans Cobra (CSX2138).

His web site is:

www.shelbyparts.com

I plan to have him build the engine for my leafspring Kirkham 289fia. He can build you a correct 5 bolt Hipo 289 right down to the really picky details if that is what you want, or he can build a more budget friendly 289. He has a very good reputation.

Is your 289 almost complete? I would love to see pictures if you have any. There are not a lot of other Kirkham 289fia's around. Mine is supposed to be completed and delivered the first week of September.

Mike

Mike,
I've bought my 289 kmp part by part - now it's time for motivation and some knuckle busting. Wish I was smart and had the Kirkham gang assemble it.....

Do you need a real-life K-code? I have a similarly motivated 289 for sale on eBay right now...

this is a little confusing. All K codes were true HiPo's, so I don't understand your meaning ?
