Default SPF 069 parts ID

Good day!

I am sourcing some info and parts for an accident damaged SPF in Germany.

Who can tell me which front uprights are used and what balljoints. Is that Mustang 2? And what steering rack is it, please?

The car is SPF 069

To my knowledge, all cars were built as follows......Spindles are based off Mustang 2. Best replacement is Wildwoods Pro spindle, a forged one piece design. Ball joints are K772. Best replacement is Howe Racings 22320. Steering rack is VW I believe. Tie rod ends are Mustang 2. Tie rods, I believe, are stock and cut down to length. Not sure what car they come from.

Dominik,

I can't say for sure what spindles are on that car. I have SPO1016 and I tried to use the Wilwood Pro spindles on my car without success. The SPF spindles seem to be made to the basic Mustang II geometry, but my hub/rotor assembly would not work with the Wilwood spindles. I also looked at the Heidts spindles, but had the same issue. I have a friend with SPO01XX and his hub/rotors are different than mine and I know of newer SPF's with even different hub/rotor assemblies, so it seems that SPF has made several production changes. I've had no success trying to get information from SPF. Maybe one of the SPF dealers that participates on this site can help.

Ted

Need to use Wildwood's Dynapro 6 Big Brake Kit part 140--10741 with the Pro Spindle. Fits perfect and rotor/hub/caliper are half the weight...plus 6 piston braking power.

Thanks for all your feedback. We sourced and identified all parts for now, except the ball joint.

I can order those from Howe.

Btw, the steering rack for ALL LHD cars is from the VW GOLF MK1 RHD, which had been built for endless years in South Africa.

Forgot...if installing Wildwood Pro spindles, the bottom ball joint hole is larger than stock SPF and requires a longer ball joint height. (Taper is correct). Howe Racings 22320 with +0.200 length will match stock height.

Seems the upper ball joint is not standard Chrysler screw in upper style K772. 65-89 year...
It looks like a BMW E36, but has different dimensions.

Anybody knows what had been used in the mid 90s for cars like 069?
Even Hi-Tech in Port Elizabeth doesn't know.
