Paint code would be for internal purposes only, you will unfortunately have to attempt to figure out just who's paintline the closed shop used to shoot. At that point, it's a simple procedure to backtrack at that manufacturers local supplier.
If all else fails, a quality local paint supplier could shoot it with a "color eye" (laser guided paint identification tool) to get the ball rolling for a close match. You can then use this to start mixing test batches to find the exact color of your car. As an example, my old 69 GT500 in Grabber Orange took the paint tech rep and myself the better part of a day mixing and spraying our "cards" to match the original paint under the factory installed stripes.......Yes, I owned a bodyshop at the time and easily used several hundred dollars worth of raw products to get it right. Each ingredient measured down to 1/10th of a gram.
