Default Mk II Electric Fuel Pump power wire

We’ve got SPS0061 almost together. I’ve found the black/yellow wire under the fuel tank, but even with key on I have no power to it. Starting up front, there’s power to the #12 fuse and the fuse is good. When I unplug the harness under the steering column and check the pins for the 2 black/yellow wires, I’ve got no juice. Any ideas where my missing link might be? Seems to be in the 18” between the fuse box and the harness plug.

Also, what is a good key on power source for accessories? I’m adding heated seats and a couple of well-concealed Bluetooth speakers.

Thank you!

Yeah, she’s a natural! If only she was as helpful in Electrical as she is with Excavation!

This is a wild guess because I know nothing about Superformance wiring. But some cars have a device that cuts power to the fuel pump after three seconds if the engine is not running.

A lot of mfg’s install a roll over fuel pump device that has to be reset from time to time....

It shuts off the fuel pump in case of a roll over or crash....

I don't get power to the pump until I activate the toggle switch on the dash designated for the fuel pump.

That is a MK III which has a fuel pump switch. The MK II ("289") does not. And there is no inertia switch/timer on the car either.

Did you receive your owner's manual and wiring diagram from Blas? An email to him may produce results.

Figure it out. Among the issues, my fuse box seems to have been installed upside down. The circuits were reversed from top to bottom, but the fuses (amp ratings) were all plugged in just like the diagram indicated! More to it than that, but it was a fun day with the wiring diagram and a test meter!

Patrick,

They are built in South Africa, it's right side up there

But if they install the fuse box in upside down won't all the electricity leak out on to the floor?
