Default Anybody using a Torsen style LSD in their car?

I have to replace the LSD in my car due to upgrading the axles to 30 spline. I am contemplating a torsen style over a normal clutch style. Anybody have one in their car and how do you like it? Have you had any problems related to horsepower or torque?

I would probably go with an Eaton.

I've run a Torsen T2 for years now. Great piece, no issues at all. Street, road track, a few drag strip runs, lots of rain all good. If it matters, 440rwhp, 315/35/17, 3.27 gears, 50k miles, 4 different tires.

I'm running a Richmond PowerTrax Grip-Pro torque-sensing differential ( https://www.powertrax.com/product-in...action-system/ ) in a Ford 9" rear end with Redline Heavy Shockproof ( https://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=44&pcid=4 ) gear oil.

It works great and I would recommend it highly.

All the torque sensing diffs are a major improvement over the positraction style diffs. There are a number of good torque sensing diffs available, several have already been mentioned. There is only one that comes with a transferrable limited lifetime warranty no matter if used as a daily driver or as a diff in a high powered race car on a race track or both and it doesn't matter where you break it (If you can), it is warrantied — for life.

The company that offers it is Wavetrac and the diff has the same name. It also has some very nice torque biasing design differences that work exceptionally well and not surprisingly, they patented them. Here is a link to their site => Wavetrac . I have been using an Eaton Tru-trac differential for 3 years with no issues in a Dana 44 case. I did break a couple of Torsen diffs one was a T2 a few years ago,

When a manufacturer offers a transferrable lifetime warranty on their product it tends to speak louder than any other endorsement I can think of — not withstanding the patentable technology enhancements.

When you think about differentials, they have been around so long it is quite difficult to come up with a significant patentable enhancement. These guys did.

Eaton brand in 8.8 IRS. 620 ft/lb, 3.90 gears, road race and auto x tires. No issues.

Actually, the Dodge Viper and the Corvette both use a Dana 44.

There are two different axle stub shaft spline offerings Wavetrac has for Vipers. If you have a 2013 or later Viper you have 32 spline stub shafts. If you have a 2010 or earlier Viper you have 31 spline stub shafts. I don't recall the spline counts on the Corvette but suspect that they are the more typical 31 spline stub shafts.

I currently run 2 torsens. One in a 8.8 watts link torque arm and the other a 8.8 in an IRS. Both are in Fox Body Mustangs that are autocrossed, roadraced and on the street. I prefer the T2R as opposed to the regular T2 and prefer both over the standard tracloc.
