Default lucas wiper cable

Anyone else ever experience when turning on the windshield wipers the spiral cable begins to buckle or bind and the arms stop moving? Mine is doing this between the first wiper and the motor. Any suggestions.

The spiral cable has to ride in a steel tube over its entire length, and be lubricated with lithium grease inside the tube. The tube should be shaped so any bends are smooth and gradual.

If you need to make a tube, buy some copper nickel brake line, 3/8" I think, it flares well, and bends easy.

I knew you were going to say that. Now I know the piece that got thrown away. It was 3/8" line with a Ferrulel nut on the end about 8" long and another long piece.....DAMN. Now have to pull the whole dash out......

Also make sure the spiral cable makes good contact with the gear on the shaft that goes up to the wiper arm. Mine would skip on the gear at times. Wasn't a fun fix.. Working upside down, backwards, and in the blind. Taking the seat out did make it a little easier. Taking the dash completely out might just be the best way.
