Default Texas prefered kit manufacturer

Just want to know, if there is a PREFERED KIT MANUFACTURER for the Texas builders?

Or a KIT MANUFACTURER in the Texas Area? Especially San Antonio?

Or at least one that has a distributor around this area, that can give direct support?

Lone Star Classics is located in Fort Worth. From their forums the company appears to give very good follow-on support. It's the replica I plan on building when I get my funding in order.

Lone Star was the prevalent brand at the recent Texas Cobra Club spring meet in New Braunfels. Nearly a third of the cars there were Lone Stars.

Lone Star Classics is what I have. (Yes Jody, I have a kit now!) Good company.

Lone Star is local and makes a nice kit.

I own a Factory Five Racing Roadster and they too make a nice kit and are very popular locally too. Even though the the factory isn't local, the online support via the Factory Five Forum coupled with FFCars.com : Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum is second to none. Log onto ffcars, post your question and you will normally have an answer within minutes. They also have a vast archive of information available by using a simple search.

How was the Spring Meet down in New Braunfels? I had a great time at the one in San Marcos!

Of course I agree with Gregg, Hurricane is a good one. Very complete kit, includes most everything for your build and the car is very accurate with regards to an orginal cobra, down to the proper size roll bar and pedal design. Check out their web site and compare what you get and the quality.
Most of the kits are good , it's just the one you find the most value is best for you.
Have fun...it's all good!

Question for you Hurricane owners. Will a size 13 clown foot fit in the footbox?

I appreciate the historical accuracy of the Hurricane, but when I have to peel carpet and trim off of a Cadillac DTS tunnel to make foot room, I know I may have Cobra footbox issues.

Lonestar has a larger foortbox, correct? Is it wider?

Thanks for all advice. Will readily accept foot jokes.

crASH I have owned four Hurricanes and I wear a size 14 tennis shoe. I sat in one of the new cars at the TCC state meet and had no foot room problems.

While not as big as Jay's (MY FEET, MY FEET), mine are 13 WWW and have no issues.
