Did any one notice it was under the SH 289 overpass?

I hope that all that was in the wreck are going to be OK. Wonder what caused it as in that picture the road looks to be straight and fairly level.

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- One person is in the hospital on Monday after a wreck in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 82 underneath the SH 289 overpass.
Police said two cars crashed into each other, and one person was transported to the hospital.
Traffic slowed in the area until the wreckage was removed.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
Straight stretch of road under apparently good conditions. Mechanical failure? Were the drivers not paying attention? Distracted? Too busy taking selfies?
I always find it baffling when vehicles collide like this.

Always trying to follow and hopefully learn from these mishaps, my unscientific conclusion is that an awful lot of Cobra crashes are during a passing maneuver combined with a bit of showing off. Hope everyone is ok.

Yep, probably downshifted and broke the rear end loose.

When I clicked on the link, the news site has the weather for Sherman, TX up in the corner. A low of 8 degrees and a high of 26 degrees -- even "medium fast" moves with icy cold tires on your Cobra can go bad very, very quickly.

True. I've found it scarily easy to break them loose on cold days.

True that!
You have cold tires and pavement compromising traction, and I did the math in my head one day, and going from 90 degrees to 40 degrees give you 15% denser air (IIRC) hence 15% more torque. Bad combination.

Most of us are likely using summer tires. Mine are not any good below 50 if I push it a little.

I thought about taking my Cobra out over the weekend but then remembered how easy the tires can spin during the Summer and decided against it. A guy on the vette forum went out, hit some black ice and crashed his car, glad I listened to myself. WINTER SUCKS!!!
