Default American racing vn427

This is a very popular wheel , not only on cobras , but on mustangs and a multitude of muscle cars . It’s the wheels used on the Eleanor cars . American racing made a lug cover that along with the tri bar gives the look of knock off wheels . I would think it was a very popular accessory, here’s the twist ,it’s no longer available, for what reason I can’t imagine. They were only $50 each. So the question , anyone have any luck sourcing an alternative ? It’s just a star shaped piece of metal that went between the spinner and the wheel .

Default lug cover

The lug nut cover was pioneered by ET Mags /Team Three Wheels Inc. for our AC-3 wheel, 20 years ago. We have made 2 versions , 1 for the early sand cast wheels and another for the permanent mould wheels, Each was designed to fit the wheel perfectly. The cover is stamped aluminum, textured and painted to match the wheel finish. It is retained by our forged decorative knock-off to give the look of a true pin-drive wheel.
The cover has been copied by others , but all ways as an after though, so the fits are not there. I think with a little bending, sanding and painting ours might fit other wheels, but it will require some time on your part.
We make replacement Knock off spinners for Compomotive, PSE, Halibrand cobra-3,and other brands of wheels. Along with Pin drive Accessories, Knock off spinners in 2 different ear angles, hub adapters and pin nuts.
We also repair other brands of wheels that have been damaged and are no longer available.

Thanks
scott

Exactly what I’m looking for , will get the order form in ASAP. I’ll post pictures once I have them on if it helps anyone else looking hopelessly for the American racing part .

Those look pretty good. I have the same wheels. Would like to buy those too but the ordering process seems a bit tedious. I may give it a shot.

I thought the same thing . But , I printed the form , took a picture of it , emailed it to them and the next morning I got a phone call to ask if I wanted the cast finish or the polished finish and later that day I got a shipping confirmation. I also submitted a picture from their website of the item just to make sure they knew the item I wanted and I submitted that picture with my order .

Got them today. 5 minutes on the sander and polisher and they look like chrome. Ordering wasn't too bad. Same experience as yours. Thanks for the lead on them Imlumpy.
