Default Shifters style feedbacks required !

For the guys that have a DD Cobra EVO5 what shifter are you using if you have a t-5.
I am using a shifter handle that I bought from a FFR forum member,it's the standard straight chrome shifter with the black ball that FFR supplies with the kit,I think finishline sell it too.
I would like to know what would be a better choice,I know this one looks period correct but it's a little long and read that it could bent the forks eventually because of the leverage and the force that it exert on the forks. If I'm right. Anybody experimented with short throws, what's your experience and what brand did you use or are using. I know there's only a handful exclusive DD owners but let me know what you've got, thanks guys !

Michel ( cobra registered, inspection soon when I can)

Default Shifter

Michel I also have the FF5 shifter handle and I cut it at the weld and shortened it and changed the angle to suit the D&D. The only difference is that I have a TKO trans but as long as you don't beat the crap out of the trans you will be fine.
Cheers Greg

Coach had a long chrome FFR shifter in his black FFR. He had me to heat and bend it so he could shift better. He liked it and used it for several years before he sold the Cobra.

I'll try to post a pic of it.

I found a pic

Coach Mike did not have to get it rechromed because the shifter boot covered the bend.

I just got a Jordon Shifter - track shifter, for my mid shift TKO600, angled towards the driver about 10-15* (not straight stick). Each shifter is custom built and not in stock. expect to wait 4 weeks. Heavy duty and chrome.

Thanks guys for the replies and nice pictures from Dwight. I was considering doing the bend thing if necessary,my cover is long enough to cover the discoloration. Greg I have different seats than you (i think) mine are more round in the back and my arm is very close from the seat's edge because of that when I shift and my arm feel a little high because of the shifter lenght,i will have to drive it to see if it's too close. I have to take it for inspection,it's ready but I don't have time now,all I do is drive it around the crescent, not enough. Work in progress !!

Our favorite with the TKO flipped in the rear position...

Default Remote shifter linkage

If you are using a road race type seat this remote linkage will mount to any shifter. Moves it forward about 12-14". Also give a more horizontal shift pattern. Mac

Michel,I made my own...I took apart an old shock that had about a 1/2"thick shaft and had a threaded portion at the top, welded a tab at the bottom, drilled two holes to match the threaded hole in the T5 stub, put a bend about 1 5/8" up from the top hole...from there it is 5" to the bottom of the threaded part and put a shift nob that was on sale from Canadian Tire...presto...chrome shifter...half an hour making it and five bucks for the nob...works great!!!
