Default Blackhawk Farms Track FUN

I must first say I am sorry to RenLady to create a conflict, but I have been looking at this for some time now. I know she is setting up a car show for the same weekend. Stay tuned for her post.

Anyway, I just signed up for both days at Blackhawk Farms track on Sept 8 and 9. I hope my car and my body can make two days of fun. See the attached link for infomation and consider joining me or if not then join RenLady.

Northwoods Region Shelby Club » Blackhawk Farms Raceway

Cost is 175 IF you sign up by Aug 15, sorry for the short notice.

This is the same group I ran with at Road Am and it is a great group of guys, run very well.

Please make this a sticky.

Lee, no worries! This club is all about variety of activities to promote getting out in our cars.

Blackhawk Farms is a great track! Although I need some good driving tips for getting my front heqvy Cobra to go around the turns - trail braking, etc. It probably didn't help that Ilearned this track in a Lotus Elise, so I learned the track line for a car that turns on a dime, which is the exact opposite of my Cobra!

I've gotten to talk with a WI Cobra owner at this track before, and he's always willing to talk cars, engines, and general knowledge. Have a great time!

Lee: You are killing me! First the Road America video, now Blackhawk - why don't you just finish the job and through in Autobahn and Gingerman? All kidding aside, I hope you have a great day - keep the shiny side up, I'll join you next year.

Tim, when you do get your car rebuilt you will likely blow my doors off with that engine upgrade.

Anyone want to try a track day? I have been to two and they are great fun and we get to hang out with a bunch of car guys and talk about ..... CARS.

Don't forget Putnam if you're looking for good tracks in nearby states!

I raced at Blackwawk Farms many times in Formula Fords And Atlantics. It is a fairly safe and fun track.

And they have redone the asphalt around turns 1 and 7, which means cars should handle better and not spray loose bits at the guy behind you.

Still some open slots for both days. Or just come out and see what it means to be on the track. I may be able to give a ride, but family first.

I have got some photos and video. Tried to upload one video to Utube, but not sure it worked. Ran all night and still only 27% complete as of 7AM. I will post a link when I get it done.

I had a BLAST.

Excellent. I was looking out for you when I was coming back from Rockford last night (motocross track). Lovely construction on 90 by the way...

I have a picture of Blackhawk from the air from Saturday but we weren't low enough to see much. By the time I pulled my phone out to take the picture we started turning so the bottom of the picture is blurry due to the window. Yeah yeah I know, I should probably be paying attention to other things then race tracks when I fly This was on the way into Milwaukee from Denver.

What a great view! Turn 3 doesn't look that angular when you're out there on it.

Sounds like we have another track rat! We go to a great weekend at Blackhawk with the Audi Club. There's usually at least one Cobra driver from WI that weekend, too. Autobahn is a great track too. We try to get out there at least once a year, especially for full track runs.
