Mine looks the same. I had thought about dowsing it with WD40.

I have exactly the same problem...include the original aluminum terminal cap and that sums up some sub-standard stuff MSD sells in their "billet" distributors...sell the sizzle, not the steak.
Thank god the MSD 6AL box has worked.

Mine is similar too. I used a Si based spray and cleaned lightly as if you really clean you will get it back worse I am told.
