The curbing problem is just a small price to pay to get that beauty on the street.. Brent, you need to form a 22 gauge strip of aluminum and fasten it to the bottom of the front clip nose. That way it scrapes the alloy not the paint and fiberglass. I even seen a GT that had skate board wheels under the clip to keep it from scraping.
