Your bracket that holds the mirror looks better than the flat polished aluminum one that I have on my Cobra. How strong is that mounting bracket and whom did you buy it from.

The bracket is very strong. I took the mirror mount from a Tex mirror that was originally fitted to the car by AC. It has a ball on top that fits into the base of the Raydyot. You need to dismantle the Raydyot. Easiest way is to take out the glass in order to get access to the top of the ball. Be prepared to replace the glass after breaking it! I did but as a local shop cut me a new one for 2GBPs I wasn't too worried. As with most things it requires some filing and "adjustment" to get it right. I am pleased with the result in terms of strength etc. just not sure about the look.
Tex mirrors are available over here from europaspares.com
