That is what happens to a block when you only run H2O, the casting seams rusted creating BIG chunks which stayed in the block water jackets. Around town the engine ran cool, but on the highway the engine would get hot when the pressure forced the chunks up and blocked the water passages from the block to the head.............. this was a ***** to figure out since the chunks would settle to the bottom of the engine water jackets between the cyls and when the engine was drained and you wouldn't see them.
